Introducing NZinga: Black is Beautiful Art and T-Shirts

C.H.U.B.B. T-Shirt

You know, just when I think we can’t get more creative, I’m proven wrong. NZinga has given the black family inspiration that you can wear. When I contacted her about why she chose this particular brand of black ownership, she gave me an earful:

I think God has always uplifted me, it was me who got in my own way…but that’s true for a lot of us I think. I think personally for black people, in business and in life in general, we should focus more on creating more of what we say we want: black love, unity, support, fellowship, respect, etc…be what we say we want more of in the world and not focus wasted energy on what we don’t want or what disturbs or bothers us. We cannot control other people or their karma; but we can totally control ours. So that’s my opinion.
I want more black love and uplifting and positive imagery and so I want to live that and be an example of that. Nothing is by chance, accident or happen stance. Coalesce with those of like mind and be assured we will all get to where we need to be. Since I believe we all as God spirits chose to come here to learn and grow; nobody is suffering for naught.

We should ALL aspire to be like this beautiful, young woman. When I saw this picture:

“He’s got the whole world in his hands”

I knew I’d have to get it. Black Family, ownership is the key to freedom. Ownership is the answer to our situation. Ownership will put us on the right track for black salvation. We are the most creative beings on earth! That’s why everyone takes from us. Please support black-owned businesses and keep the dollar circulating 10, 15, 20 times!!! When you buy black and black only, the money NEVER leaves your community. We all win.

Please support this shop and all other shops I’ve listed on my blog.

Ooh, I love her quote. I am looking into starting hair accessories for highly textured hair. Jeweled combs, clips, barets and the like with W I D E teeth for our particular hair. A lot of us are waking up and these multi-national coporations are trying to cash in on it. Revlon, L’Oreal ect. After years of greedily pandering to our insecurities, they want to pocket the money from our awakening as well? Oh. Hell. No. I’m happy to see that a lot of naturalistas prefer to patronize their OWN. Stupid people at the companies don’t realize that often, becoming natural and bucking against the system seem to go hand in hand. They won’t see a damn cent of my money. Patronize Black owned businesses!

When you do decide to start your organization, let me know and I’ll promote you. Ebay sells lots of cowry shells, beads and rhinestones for a great price to help you get started.

That is EXCELLENT to know..because these bead shops around here (south Orange County California) are out of control in their prices. I would love to do a jeweled clip for you. For some reason, I see you and tiger’s eye together. I will let you know. This is going to take another 6 months and then I will be out and ready for bid-ness! 🙂

Hmmm, wonder why my gravatar isn’t showing up here. I swear up and down sometimes that “they” are messing with your site. smh

  7. 🙂

I’m from the islands. I love Tiger Eye, conch, turquoise and all other natural stones. Good luck with your endevour and shop around on ebay for different pricing.

And yes, Demons love to mess with my site.

  11. Thank You SOOO Much for the spotlight!! It is greatly appreciated. I thank you all for your kind words and encouragement!

  12. As a new Black entrepreneur, I certainly celebrate and wish the best for Black businesses!! But as a future Internist, I would be remiss for not mentioning that the celebration of being overweight is killing our community, one insulin shot at a time.
Don’t get me wrong, the woman on the shirt is absolutely gorgeous, but she’s overweight, and I don’t mean in an “only a size 2 is sexy kinda way”. But in a “lose 15-20 pounds and decrease your risk for cancer, diabetes, and heart disease” kinda way.

  13. Dr. Reine–I absolutely understand your concerns. My t-shirts, as well as all of my work, is meant to encourage and celebrate our beauty–where we are right now. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t always strive to do and be ‘better’; but we need to celebrate who and what we are right now in this moment. Health is primary. We agree. But for those sistahs struggling today with weight issues–they need to know they are beautiful as they are right NOW. Size 2 or size 20. It’s all about love. We as black women are denigrated enough in the society at large and my aim is simply to have us embrace ourselves in all our magnificence. But I appreciate your concerns and I know you are doing great work for the community. Thanks for your comment.
