You forgot Janet (MissJackson) If you nasty.Lol!!!!

I am surprised that you missed Lena Horne, Josephine Baker, Dorothy Dandridge, and Sade Adu.

  3. Olivia on said:

    Serena Williams.

  4. BASSETT!!
    Lady Day!

I always loved Beverly Johnson too.

  5. Hooray-equal time for the ladies! You put together an impressive list. Let me just say, in my next life I’m coming back looking like Garcelle Beauvais. I saw Kerry Washington on Broadway in Race. She was excellent; and for Eartha Kitt – I adored her. The first time I saw Ms. Kitt was as Cat Woman on the Batman series. She was not like any other black women in my sphere; then or now. Thanks for sharing.

  6. This list was sooooo hard! I also wanted to add Grace Jones, a major fashion icon that I admire.

  7. Definitely Dorothy and Sade should be on the top 10 list.

  8. My Good Dr:

This list was so hard…But I agree with you.

    My list would be:

    Janet Jackson
    Whitney Houston
    Melyssa Ford
    Lynn Whitfield
    Bria Myles
    Maliah Michel
    Sultry Simone
    Buffie the Body
    Stephanie “Miss Lyric” Evans
    Bern Nadette Stanis
    London “Deelishis” Charles
    Serena Williams
    Alicia Keys
    Anita Baker
All the women on your list
    Phylicia Rashad
    Angie Stone
    India Arie
    Mia Amber Davis
And some others I can’t think of right now.

  10. To be honest, Lena Horne wouldn’t make my list until she was in her 40’s.

You forgot to mention Lela Rochon. She’s one of the finest women in hollywood…Period! The late but never forgotten Flo-Jo(Florence Griffith Joyner) was and is still one of the finest female athletes to bless the airwaves, i was a big fan. Pam Grier is an all-time favorite, the epitome of sexual chocolate in every aspect. Also, a fan of Sanaa Lathan as well. So many flavors of chocolate to indulge, so many kinds of sistas to love, this is why blackwomen are so special. “Blackman Heaven” is here on earth, not in the sky.

  12. Good comment!

@Brotha Wolf, I (heart) him. He’s got love for my two favorite artist. Sister Angie Stone and India Arie. He must like thickness in a ebony sister. can appreciate a curvy girl with dark chocolate skin. Eartha Kitt was a fierce cat woman.

Sister, I know you said you don’t watch movies and television, But you’ve got to check out Chiwetel Ejiofor’s great performance in the film “Kinky Boots. His portrayal of a female impersonator doing Ertha Kitt’s “I want to be bad” I just gave me life. this man has mad skills as an actor. Hotep.

  15. If he’s in it, I may check it out.

  16. ALL of Ejiofor’s movies are amazing!

I just remembered a few more:

    Loretta Devine
    Anne Marie Hartford
    Jackee Harry
    Niecy Nash
Sunny Anderson (Why did Food Network remove her show?!?!?)

Wait a minute, I almost forgot:

    Mary J. Blige
    Vanessa Williams (both of them)
    Nia Long
    Ki Toy Johnson
Toccara Jones (especially before she lost weight)
Jennifer Hudson (especially before she lost weight)
    Avonte Wright
    Salt N Pepa
    MC Lyte
    Adina Howard
    Michelle Nichols
    Michelle Obama
    Nicki Minaj (without the plastic)
    Jade (90’s R&B group)
    En Vogue
    Changing Faces
    Patti Labelle
    Aretha Franklin
    Jody Watley

I almost forgot Venus Williams, Jackee Joyner Kersee, Laila and Tatyana Ali.

  20. Viola Davis looks like a damn tranny. And Beverly whats-its-face. And Aisha Tyler. And Ton Braxton. Lauryn Hill is batshit crazy So is Halle Berry. Pam Grier is old. Two of dem bitches is dead, so they don’t count. Jill Scott looks like this cow that I saw grazing while I was jogging this evening, besides sex with fat chicks = bestiality.

I expect better from you truthbetold. You are one of my favorite bloggers, but this list just mediocre. Trust me, I’m being kind when I say this.

Here is a list that reflects true black beauty:

    Tia and Tamera
    Kim Kardashian
    Nikki Minaj
    Halle Berry
    Pinky (porn star)

    I will complete this later.

  21. Ummmm…Satan, dear? Why does you list feature:
    1. Mulattoes
    2. Creoles
    3. Quadroons/Octoroons/Quintroons

I don’t watch porn so “Pinky” is unknown to me….

  22. The use of the words mulatto/quadroon/octoroon/quintoon (1/5 dark WTF?) is extremely backward and racist. I absolutely, completely disapprove of the use of such racist terminology and I WILL NOT tolerate it!

Oh, and I left Lauren London of my list.

    Kim Fields
    Queen Latifah
    Kim Coles
    Judge Glenda Hatchett
    Judge Mablean Ephriam
    Essence Atkins
    Golden Brooks
    Jill-Marie Jones

    (Man, I watch a lot of TV, don’t I?)

  25. Kim Fields is a true beauty. And yes, you sure do love some TV!

  26. Satanforce,

You think puttig Kim K on there was a bit much? I think that was what stopped me from getting lulz.

  27. Kim K is vile. Shame on you.

  28. We were looking to see pictures of our host.

    But where’s my momma?

I wouldn’t know beauty, strength or downright intelligence were it not for my momma.

Still, Sister truthbetold, first adore your beauty. So the rest of us can. 🙂

  29. Onitaset…you flatter me, you sly thing. I’m sure mom is beautiful.

  30. She sure is–why else would I be number 11 on the men’s list?

Though remember Sister, “love yourself.” Which of these Sisters can compare to our lovely writer?

Psshh, my mommas on the list, taking up a few numbers, but you should be too.

‘Cause “black women are so [ expletive] fine.” Ask what Sojourner Truth (another “Truth”) asked this country: “Ain’t I a woman?”

You should have put yourself up there. ‘Cause you know it’s true. 🙂

Which, come to think of it, “Ain’t I a woman” is a speech kind of like your blog:

Sojourner Truth is another nomination for beauty, to me. 🙂

  31. phoebeprunelle on said:

    I think Chimamanda is beautiful.

  32. SomeGuy on said:

Yeah, I was going to ask about Grace Jones. I just wish she did more films.

  33. brothawolf on said:

    I knew it.

    (Hangs head in shame)

  34. Taral Hicks
    Tracey Heggins – http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2422410/
    Alicia Keys
    Jody Watley
    Skylar Diggins – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skylar_Diggins
    Esperanza Spalding – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanza_Spalding
    Liya Kebede – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liya_Kebede
    Ariel Meredith – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Meredith

And too many more to list! 🙂

  35. ynotme on said:

    Definitely Liya Kebede

  36. Tyrone on said:

Kim K is not a blackwoman yet, she hasn’t married a blackman and birthed a black baby, which is how whitewomen see it. Yes, Kim is striving for honarary sistahood, not just yet my friend. Satanforce, you’re a smart man, you love the best…Cocoa Pink, Pink Cocoa, Pink Chocolate, Chocolate Pie, Brown Sugar, and the list goes. Nubia is what they call her…The Black Female!

  37. TY

    Don’t encourage him!!!

  38. Tyrone on said:

It is what it is. Any man that loves blackwomen is a smart man…Ditto! At the same time, we’re still the apple of their eyes, and always will be. Truth, i’ll holla at ya in time sista, gotta bounce.

  39. Sorry Brotha’: Buffie the Body makes me want to upchuck something fierce!

  40. So…a few days ago I came through and and unofficially added myself to the list of top-ten beautiful black men. So once again, for all the sistas out there who exist in real life and not on television and magazines, I would like to nominate my beautiful black queen who stand by my side, raises my children, feeds my body and soul, and does it all while looking absolutely gorgeous. My wife. God Bless!

  41. Soul:

    God Bless you!

  42. There’s a distinct lack of Gabrielle Union on this list. This list is therefore invalid.
Gabrielle Union could enter the Olympics as America’s gold medal hopeful in “Cute Animal Kicking” (chipmunk to kitten weight class) and I’d watch the event and think, “Damn, that woman is fine as May wine in the sunshine!”

  43. Yes, Gabby is so fine.

  44. tehnoun on said:

I can’t believe that I never posted here, especially because Angela Basset is at the top and I’m shamelessly infatuated with her. The only other person who even comes close to my adoration of her is Sophia Loren, and even she’s a distant second. 😛

  45. Miss Bassett is a true beauty. I agree.
